Ingredients

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix gram flour with curd, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to make a smooth batter.
  2. Pour the batter into a steaming vessel and steam for 15-20 minutes, until cooked. Once cooled, cut into small pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the oil starts to separate.
  6. Add the steamed gram flour pieces and mix well with the gravy. Add water as needed to adjust consistency.
  7. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, then add garam masala. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
